Playground Games are looking to recruit a highly talented and passionate Vehicle Artist to join our Forza Horizon team on a contract basis. 


As a premier first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and most of all fun. We are looking to expand our diverse team as we continue driving forward our BAFTA award-winning Forza Horizon franchise.   

About the Role: 

You'll be supporting the team in bringing new vehicles to Forza Horizon. You’ll have a portfolio focused on quality 3D vehicle work demonstrating a keen eye for detail. 

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of modern 3D art techniques and be a highly motivated team player. 

This role is based in our state-of-the-art studio in Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model in place. Relocation assistance is available if required.  

What You’ll do: 

  • Working as part of a team supporting vehicle content for Forza Horizon. 
  • Deliver work on time to an exceptional standard that is aligned to the artistic vision. 
  • Identify emerging risks and issues to raise with your Lead/Principal. 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Understanding of hard surface modelling, vehicle scale, form, and proportions. 
  • Solid understanding of modern PBR techniques and methodologies. 
  • Experience using 3Ds Max or similar 3D packages. 
  • Excellent 2D texturing skills using Adobe Photoshop and Substance Designer. 
  • A methodical approach to work and quality. 


  • Possess a 1st Class or 2:1 Honours degree in a relevant artistic degree or relevant experience from a similar industry. 
  • An up-to-date knowledge of the games industry and wider artistic industry developments. 
  • A professional work ethic and attitude. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication. 
  • A passion for vehicles, games and motorsport.
